Tony Snodgrass is the author of God and America: A Philosophy of Fundamental Beliefs Leading to a Happy Life!

This concise book explores America’s founding principles. It focuses on ideas from the Declaration of Independence—such as rights endowed by the Creator that no government can take away—and the Constitution’s balanced structure of government.
These timeless truths stand on their own. They are compatible with organized religion but do not depend on it. The book shows how following these principles leads individuals to greater liberty, moral order, and a truly happy life.

Tony’s journey began in the 1980s as a Combat Controller with Joint Special Operations Command. He participated in key operations including Urgent Fury (Grenada) and Poison Dart (Achille Lauro hijacking), earning elite qualifications as a Master Parachutist, Military Freefall specialist, Combat SCUBA diver, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal expert.

After his enlisted service, Tony completed a BS in Mathematics and Economics at Rockhurst College, earning his commission as an Air Force officer. He went on to earn advanced degrees: a Master of Science in Space Studies at University of North Dakota and a Master of Science in Operations Research at the Air Force Institute of Technology. This rigorous analytical training informs his evidence-based approach to examining faith, freedom, and human flourishing.

Following military retirement, Tony dedicated over 20 years as a Senior Systems Analyst and Program Manager supporting the U.S. Air Force, Department of Defense, and Joint Commands. In high-pressure, resource-constrained environments, he combined complex data sets to deliver actionable insights for senior leaders. Highlights include pioneering Campaigns of Experimentation for rapid tech integration, leading evaluations of advanced datalinks and laser defenses (e.g., DARPA HELLADS in national air defense), contributions to F-35 effectiveness, post-9/11 NCR-IADS enhancements, and tactical testing—earning honors like the 2010 F-35 Test Team of the Year and the 2003 RIST Prize for best Military Operations Research paper.

This unique blend of special operations experience, systems thinking, leadership in crisis, and defense of national interests uniquely equips Tony to unpack the philosophical foundations of American liberty and personal happiness. His decorations—including the Bronze Star with Valor and multiple Meritorious Service Medals—reflect a lifelong commitment to principled service.

Now retired in Belhaven, North Carolina, Tony channels that same dedication into writing and sharing these enduring truths through IBelieveUS.com. His work bridges America’s founding ideals with practical guidance for citizens seeking a happy life grounded in liberty and moral clarity.
